Beta 30: Targeting, Special Weapons & Perk Purchases

The walls have stopped taking orders from your crosshair.

Beta 30 is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. This update fixes targeting through solid cover, a frozen-boss instant-kill exploit, and perk purchases from the wrong side of a wall. It also gives Scapegoat-empowered zombies a new response to IT Hard Reset.

Aim assist respects solid cover

Aiming down sights no longer locks onto a zombie through a wall or another solid obstacle. An existing lock drops when the target moves behind solid cover. You can still aim at zombies through fences, including the repairable perimeter breaches. A wall behind a fence still blocks targeting.

Cold Shoulder freezes without an instant kill

Fully freezing a zombie with HR Cold Shoulder no longer makes its next hit an automatic kill. Damage must take down its remaining health, and special bosses retain their survival abilities. The ice shatter effect still plays when a zombie dies while more than 50% frozen.

Electricity feeds Scapegoat empowerment

IT Hard Reset deals no damage to zombies empowered by the Scapegoat. Each electric hit instead adds 10% movement speed and 5% size, up to three boosts: a maximum of 30% extra speed and 15% extra size. They remain immune to the weapon after reaching that cap. These boosts stay in sync in co-op.

Buy perks at the front of the machine

All six perk machines now use a purchase area placed in front of them, following the same rule as wall weapons. You must stay inside that area to complete a purchase. Standing behind the machine, beside it or on the other side of a wall no longer lets you buy a perk.

Ammo and co-op respawns

• Repeatedly dropping and picking up a gun with Fanny Pack no longer creates extra reserve ammunition.
• A co-op player who dies just as a round ends can return in the next round, even if the host receives the death update after the round changes. The respawn penalty is applied once.
