What has changed in Damn, Zombies, what is coming, and what we would like you to try breaking next.
Builds 62–63 · Combat & horde AI
Zombies now swing on the move and the Boss is remastered. Then the horde learns to read floors: it follows you upstairs, stops jamming on the stairs and climbs them side by side.
Build 61 · HUD update
A new augmented-glasses HUD brings curved cyan reflections, clearer weapon cards and live bonus countdowns. Compare the old and new views.
Builds 58–60 · Combat & wave balance
A stronger shotgun, kinder respawns and a shotgun-only reload boost meet slower-growing ordinary waves and lighter co-op crowds.
Build 57 · Workplace training
Learn all four office calls in an untimed practice lesson, move straight to each handset, and hear HR’s new warning about your abandoned lunch.
Builds 52–55 · Since Beta 51
The lunch hunt stays in the downstairs east wing and pays 500 gold per meal. Collect all five in 120 seconds to earn another personal Coffee Bomb slot.
Build 51 · Office calls & new events
Four office phones now deliver shared calls. Hunt a ringing TeamSync screen for a free perk, or report to a haunted meeting room before the deadline.
Builds 48–49 · Since Beta 47
The office estate grows beyond the fence: roads, hills and lighting now frame the compound. Rain, gusts, birds, calls and a more efficient zombie crowd make the whole shift feel alive.
Builds 46–47 · Since Beta 45
Zombie arms drag Lost & Found into a red-lit crater. Three new Employee looks, natural hand animation, better box placements and weapon updates round out everything since Beta 45.
Builds 44–45 · Since Beta 43
Learn your first shift in a guided practice compound, from buying weapons to restoring the lights. Plus Beta 44’s boss health bars, together in one update.
Build 43 · Performance & graphics settings
Automatic first-run graphics defaults, saved custom settings, finer control over lights and effects, and reduced rendering work around the compound.
Builds 41–42 · Controls, HUD & atmosphere
Switch freely between controller and mouse, read every interaction, keep your full loadout in view, and catch up on lighting, CCTV spectating and co-op fixes.
Build 40 · HUD, melee & sound
Clearer spending, timed pickup icons, a 1.3-metre golf club and more reliable warnings from nearby zombies behind you.
Build 39 · Crash diagnostics
A separate Windows crash reporter, saved session diagnostics and an optional Send crash report window help us investigate unexpected exits.
Build 38 · World audio, casino & combat
Walls and floors muffle world sounds, casino visits have a shared five-minute cooldown, and Scapegoat-boosted melee leaves a full-health survivor a fighting chance.
Build 37 · Sound & camera motion
Hear the floor beneath your feet, with quieter footsteps for seven surface types, stronger running motion and a gentle walking bob.
Builds 35–36 · TEMO, Headhunter & gunplay
Updated for Beta 36: the crossbow reload is now 0.91 seconds. Catch up on TEMO deliveries, Headhunter, firing bloom and the story scenes under development.
Build 34 · Zombie movement, loot & startup
Zombies take more varied routes after breaching, three special weapons become rarer, and the startup warning advances after five seconds or a quick input.
Build 33 · Atmosphere, power & startup
Dispersed mist that follows the sky, 5–8 minute fuse-box healthy periods, a Middle Manager effect fix and a flashing-lights warning before the menu.
Build 32 · Atmosphere & attack effects
Richer night lighting, subtle surface shading and local atmosphere, plus a growing claw swipe for the Executive. Compare the lighting before and after.
Build 30 · Gameplay fixes
Aim assist respects walls, frozen bosses keep their health, electricity strengthens Scapegoat-empowered zombies, and perk purchases stay in front of the machine.
Builds 28–29 · Release roundup
Four barricade animations with before-and-after footage, zombies that keep their own entrance, faster Motion Carried shots, lobby spectating and a clearer way to get your beta key.
Builds 22–27 · Release roundup
Three new crate weapons, freezing and chain lightning lead the Builds 22–27 roundup, alongside spectating, rooftop changes, repair rewards, highscores and casino sound.
Builds 18–21 · Release roundup
The full Build 18–21 roundup: power faults and HR screams, varied zombies, a rooftop host, custom controller layouts, weapon and Scapegoat changes, visual fixes and stair navigation.
Beta 18 · Visuals and power
A sharper compound, darker nights and a rooftop casino—now with four repairable electrical circuits. Keep the lights running while you manage the horde.
Build 7
A minimap that is an actual map, a roof you can get onto through either store, leaderboards ranked by the round you reached, and a display name that is yours alone. Signed, all three platforms.
Event
Friday 4 September, from 19:00 GMT, we are on the servers running live multiplayer matches with whoever turns up. The Discord is where it is organised, and it is open to everybody.
Update
From build 5 the Windows build carries a code signature, so Windows can name us rather than warning you about a stranger. What that does, what it does not do, and why the blue box has not vanished.
Announcement
The compound is open to outside staff. Sign up for free, get 7-day access instantly, and try three challenge runs. Request an extension if you want more time, and join the Discord community.
