Beta 33: Softer Mist, Longer-Lasting Power

An actual Beta 33 view from the office entrance across the lamp-lit car park and subtle ground mist at the eclipse.

The mist drifts in. The lights stay on a little longer.

Beta 33 is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. This update refines the outdoor atmosphere, gives fuse boxes more time between natural faults, removes the Middle Manager's swipe effect, and adds a flashing-lights warning before the main menu.

Mist that belongs to the sky

Scattered wisps now drift across the car park and service yard, rising gently from the ground as the night progresses. Their colour follows each round's sky: warm at dusk, cooler during the night, and reddish around the eclipse. The effect is more transparent, with soft gaps and varied movement to keep it dispersed.

Actual in-engine captures from the same camera, with Medium atmosphere and SSAO off. Open a picture for its full resolution. The images have not been brightened.

Mist stays outside the office and fades near the camera and at a distance. Medium uses at most 32 GPU particles across two nearby areas; the wisps add no lights, shadows or particle collisions. Atmosphere quality still offers Off, Low, Medium and High.

Five to eight minutes of healthy power

Each healthy fuse box now rolls a 5–8 minute wait before its next natural fault, including after a repair. Repair protection is part of that total: five protected minutes followed by up to three minutes of waiting. Later rounds no longer shorten that healthy window.

Natural faults are still staggered, so a queued fault can happen later if another box has just failed. HR can still damage an unprotected box. Repairs remain free, take three seconds, and award 500 gold.

A warning before the menu

A static notice now follows the TSMW intro on every launch, explaining that flashing lights and visual effects may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Choose Continue when ready, or Quit. The screen supports keyboard, mouse and controller.

Skipping the logo still leads to the warning; it waits for acknowledgement.

The claw trail stays with the Executive

The Middle Manager and his promoted variant no longer show a swipe trail. Their attack animation, timing and damage remain intact. The suited Boss/Executive keeps his pink-red, right-hand claw effect from Beta 32.
