Build 34 · Zombie movement, loot & startup
Beta 34: Spread Out, Rarer Finds

The horde has stopped forming such an orderly queue.
Beta 34 is available for Windows, Linux and macOS. This update gives zombies more individual movement after a breach, makes three special Lost & Found weapons harder to roll, and streamlines the warning before the main menu.
A less predictable chase
Once through a breach, zombies can take slightly different lines along a clear route. Each zombie varies its aim point gently over time, spreading a following crowd across the available space instead of sending everyone down the same line.
The variation only applies when there is a clear way out and back onto the route. Zombies keep their established movement while approaching or crossing breaches, climbing stairs and recovering from getting stuck. The offset fades as they close in on their target, and blocked detours fall back to the normal route.
The checks are small and staggered, with no extra full path searches or searches through neighbouring zombies. Crowded breach and staircase scenarios were checked alongside the new chase behaviour.
Rarer Lost & Found finds
| Weapon | Before | Beta 34 |
|---|---|---|
| Synergy Beam | 5% | 1 in 60 (about 1.67%) |
| HR Cold Shoulder | 5% | 1 in 40 (2.5%) |
| IT Hard Reset | 5% | 1 in 40 (2.5%) |
Synergy Beam is now three times as rare; Cold Shoulder and Hard Reset are twice as rare. The troll outcome stays at 5%, with the freed chance shared across the ordinary weapon pool. Online and solo crate rolls use the same weights.
Five seconds before the menu
The flashing-lights and photosensitive epilepsy warning now shows for five seconds, then moves on automatically. Its Continue and Quit buttons have been removed. Click, press Space or Enter, or press A on an Xbox-style controller or Cross on a PlayStation controller to advance sooner.
